CCTV Placement Tips for Shops in Karachi
Most shop losses happen at the door, the till, and the stock room. Place cameras for faces and hands, not just pretty wide shots.
Cover the first two metres
The entrance is where faces are clearest. Mount a camera that sees who walked in, not only the top of their head. Avoid pointing straight at the shutter glare.
A second camera on the till should see hands and the cash drawer. That clip is what you need when a bill is disputed.
Stock room and staff door
Shared keys on a stock door are a common Karachi retail problem. Pair the stock camera with an automatic lock or access reader so you know who opened the room and when.
If you have more than one outlet, keep the same layout so managers can review clips the same way. Our retail CCTV page explains a typical shop stack.
Common questions
Should the cashier see the cameras?
A visible camera at the till helps honest staff and customers. Keep a second angle that still captures the counter if someone blocks the first.
Is one dome camera enough?
One dome in the middle of the shop misses the door and the stock. Split coverage instead of one wide, weak view.
