Access Control vs Automatic Door Locks
A magnetic lock opens a door. Access control decides who may open it and writes a log. Most sites need both, not one or the other.
What each product actually does
Automatic door locks — magnetic locks, electric strikes, bolts — are the hardware that keeps the leaf shut. Access control is the reader and software that grants a person, then records the event.
Buying only a lock without a reader is fine for a single store room. A bank strong-room, pharmacy, or staff corridor needs a reader and a short user list.
Pair the door with a camera
A log that says “card 17 at 11:02” is stronger when a camera shows who held the card. We often sell lock, reader, and a nearby CCTV camera as one door kit.

Common questions
Can I keep using keys?
You can, but lost keys mean a lock change. Cards and fingerprints are cheaper to revoke.
Do locks work if the network is down?
A good lock still holds the door. We set fail-safe or fail-secure based on fire and theft risk.
